Darryl Reeves ist einer der Referenten in unserem einzigartigen Double Degree Programm an der Long Island University. Er repräsentiert eine neue Art von Wissenschaftern, die im CrossOver Bereich Methoden aus der Datenanalyse und der Analyse komplexer genetischer und biologischer Systeme auf Entscheidungssituation im Bereich des Managements anwenden. Diese Anwendungen helfen in schwierigsten Situationen bessere Prognosen zu machen und zuverlässigere Entscheidungen vor allem im Investitionsbereich zu treffen.

DARRYL REEVES

Darryl Reeves is a Computational Biologist. His research focus is the application of computational methods to problems in biology/medicine, areas of public interest , and business. In the area of biology and medicine, he is focused on the development of new methods for the analysis of metagenomic sequencing datasets including research into hierarchical models of genomic data and novel web applications for visualization and analysis of this data. He is also interested in the development of informatics tools to make government and non-profit data more widely accessible for the public and researchers. With regards to the intersections of business and informatics, Dr. Reeves is  investigating new models for understanding venture capital returns to influence start-up investing. Dr. Reeves received a B.S. in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University, a M.S. in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in Computational Biology and Medicine from Cornell University.

 

 

Chrisotopher Bates ist ein weiterer Referent des Double Degree Programm an der LIU in New York. Als  erfahrener Analyst und Managing Directer von Goldman Saches war er vor allem auch im Risk Managment und in der Bewertung von Firmen tätig. Einer seiner Schwerpunkte war es auch das Potential von Firmen zu bewerten durch Innovationen Marktanteile zu gewinnen. Er trägt einen wertvollen Anteil in der Fokussierung des Studienprogramms auf innovationsgetriebenes Unternehmertum.

Christopher Bates

Christopher Bates serves on the LIU College of Management Alumni Advisory Board.  He is also an Adjunct Professor of Finance and is the Faculty Advisor for the Student Investment Fund at Long Island University. While living in Charleston, South Carolina he served on The Citadel Military College of Business Advisory Board. Mr. Bates previously served as Managing Director at Goldman Sachs where he supervised specialists at several post positions and oversaw stocks such as United Airlines, Allstate, Valero and Genentech. As Managing Director he was responsible for identifying, assessing and managing financial risk of specialist traders, and monitoring compliance with rules of the NYSE to maintain a fair and orderly market. Mr. Bates was a Member of the New York Stock Exchange from 1980-2004.

Mr. Bates created and served on the Board of the Members Handicapped Children’s Fund, which raised in excess of 2.7 million dollars for handicapped children in the tri-state area. He received his Bachelor’s and M.S in Criminal Justice degrees from LIU Post (2014) where he was recipient of several awards.
